Your Coach
Certified Personal Trainer based in South Surrey — specializing in helping men and women 30–55+ get lean, build functional strength, and feel 20 again through functional training, HIIT, and full body strength coaching.
Ryan's path into fitness started the same way many of his clients' do — from the other side. As a teenager he was 15–20 pounds overweight, lethargic, and not particularly active. That changed when he started hitting the gym with friends. What began as something casual quickly became a genuine passion, and that passion never left.
Ryan began his career at a local gym in South Surrey, coaching clients on the gym floor before deciding to bet on himself. He left to enroll in Sports Sciences at Douglas College — and at the same time, went fully private with his training business. He later transferred to UBC before returning to Douglas College, where he graduated with his diploma in Sports Sciences.
Today, with 5+ years of experience, Ryan works with clients out of a private studio or in the comfort of their own home — delivering 1-on-1 and partner training that's personal, direct, and built around real results. No gym floor chaos. No cookie-cutter programs. Just focused coaching that fits your life.
What drives him is simple: he knows what it feels like to not be where you want to be — and he knows what it takes to change that. Helping people push past their limits, feel stronger, and show up as better versions of themselves is what gets Ryan out of bed every morning.

The Philosophy
Ryan's coaching is built on a set of core beliefs — especially when it comes to training adults 30–55+ who want real, lasting results without wrecking their body in the process.
01
Show Up and Coach
Ryan is present every session — not handing you a plan and walking away. Real coaching means being there, watching, correcting, and adjusting in real time.
02
Train Smart, Not Just Hard
Your body at 40 or 50 is different from 25 — and that's a good thing. Ryan programmes around your decade, protecting joints while still pushing real intensity.
03
Function First, Aesthetics Follow
Move better, burn fat, build strength — in that order. When your body functions well, it looks better too. Ryan's functional and HIIT-based approach delivers both.
04
Consistency Beats Perfection
Sustainable habits compound over time. Ryan builds programs you can actually stick to — not crash plans that leave you back at square one in three months.
"I was that overweight, lethargic teenager who didn't think fitness was for me. Then I found the gym — and everything changed. Now I get to be that turning point for other people. That never gets old."— Ryan Hopkins
